Who We Are The Root Ministry — the vine from which every branch draws its life

Saintly Journeys Ministry is The Root Ministry — a lay-led digital ministry of accompaniment and evangelization founded in Central Florida in July 2024. It exists for a single, unwavering purpose: to walk with people on the road toward Jesus Christ.

This is not a parish program. It is not a denominational institution. It is a companion ministry — one man answering one call, walking alongside everyone God sends his way. From the first-time seeker to the lifelong believer who has hit a wall of silence, every person who arrives at this ministry is welcomed with the same invitation:

“Come and you will see.” John 1:39  —  ESV  ·  The Tag Scripture of Saintly Journeys Ministry

Whether you come from a non-denominational congregation, a Protestant tradition, a Catholic parish, or no church background at all — you are exactly the kind of person this ministry was built for. No tradition is required at the door. No tradition is turned away at it.

One Vine. Four Branches. Each branch serves a different moment on the seeker’s road

Saintly Journeys Ministry is the vine. Everything that follows draws its life from the same root — four branches, one purpose: encounter with the living Christ.

Branch 1 The Blog

Reflections, Scripture commentary, and honest conversations about faith, prayer, and the pilgrim’s life. The first word of the invitation — the Come of Come and You Will See.

Branch 2 The Ministry & The Pilgrim Year

The Pilgrim Year is Saintly Journeys Ministry’s sacred calendar — five seasons and a three-year Gospel lectionary designed to walk every seeker through the full arc of the Christian life. From the Season of Awakening through the Season of the Sent, it is a road map for the year rooted in Scripture and open to every tradition.

Branch 3 Formation Center

Seven free spiritual formation courses, one-on-one mentorship, a curated resource library, and an 18-week mentor training program. Where the invitation becomes a sustained journey.

Branch 4 Men of the Vineyard

The Unveiled Brotherhood — a men’s online Zoom community. No masks. No performance. Just brothers, transformed together in Christ. Open to men of all traditions.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit.” John 15:5  —  ESV
Registered Soul Center  ·  Christian Leaders Alliance

Saintly Journeys Ministry is a registered Soul Center with the Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA) — a global ecuministry organization that credentials ministers across denominational lines. The CLA’s ecuministry structure means its credentialed ministers may hold dual credentials in any tradition. Saintly Journeys’ registration as a Soul Center is itself an ecumenical act: a declaration that this ministry belongs to the whole household of God, not any single room within it. The Christian Leaders Institute is headquartered in Largo, Florida, and Spring Lake, Michigan.

What Makes Saintly Journeys Unique Three streams. One road. One Christ.

This ministry sits at the intersection of three streams of the Christian faith — non-denominational, Protestant, and Catholic — and belongs fully to none of them and welcomes all of them. Its founder’s own journey across those traditions is precisely what makes him a companion for every seeker, regardless of where they start.

The road is the same road. The Christ at the end of it is the same Christ.

Saintly Journeys Ministry draws on both the evangelical Protestant love of Scripture and the contemplative Catholic spiritual tradition — offering the richness of both streams to every seeker who comes. The practices of lectio divina, the Examen, and the Liturgy of the Hours that appear in the Formation Center’s courses come from the Catholic tradition and are offered as gifts for every seeker, not requirements of any particular church.

All ministry offerings are provided completely free of charge, in the spirit of Matthew 10:8 — Freely you have received; freely give. If something here blesses you, consider blessing someone else. Feed the hungry. Serve at a soup kitchen. Let the formation you receive bear fruit in someone else’s life.

Founder & Director Randy Schwingle Lay Evangelist  ·  Ordained Minister  ·  Licensed Life Coach “Here am I. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8  —  The Compass Scripture of This Ministry
About Randy A layman who answered a call — nothing more, nothing less

I am a layman. I am not a priest, a deacon, or a vowed religious. I am a husband, stepfather, and grandfather who answered Isaiah 6:8 — and that identity is not a limitation but a gift. I walk the same road as the people I accompany. I carry the same questions, the same struggles, and the same burning hope. The ministry’s credibility is not institutional. It is earned on the road, one conversation at a time.

The Beginning  ·  Finger Lakes, New York My Roots

I grew up in a rural county in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York — a land of rolling hills, quiet Amish farms, and vineyards stretching as far as the eye could see. The unhurried rhythms of the vineyard and the simple, intentional faith of the Amish community shaped a man who would spend his life believing that good things take time, and that presence matters more than performance. I was raised in a Methodist home where Scripture and faith were woven into everyday life. That Protestant foundation gave me an ecumenical heart — open, seeking, and formed by the conviction that truth is worth pursuing wherever it leads.

30 Years of Service  ·  Yates County Sheriff’s Office A Life of Service Before Ministry

Before Saintly Journeys, I served my community for 30 years as a law enforcement officer, retiring from the Yates County Sheriff’s Office — honored as NYS Sheriffs’ Association Officer of the Year in 2004. My parents taught me early: serving others will be the greatest reward you will ever experience. That conviction has never left me. It simply found a new road.

2020  ·  The First Nudge A Calling Takes Root

During the quiet of the pandemic in 2020, I felt an unmistakable inner nudge from God toward ministry. I enrolled at the Christian Leaders Institute and began a program of ecumenical ministry formation. By 2021, I had founded FLX Wedding Officiant — a Christian wedding ministry serving couples across the Finger Lakes — and served as a SYMBIS-certified marriage preparation facilitator. The gift of accompaniment I practiced in those ceremonies — listening, preparing, walking with people on the most important roads of their lives — is the same gift that runs through every part of Saintly Journeys today.

My Faith Journey  ·  A Personal Road Methodist Roots. Catholic Homecoming.

Following in my mother’s footsteps, I was received into the Catholic Church — not as a stranger arriving at an unfamiliar door, but as a son coming home. My conversion through the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults was unhurried, as all true conversions are. It deepened my love for Scripture and the sacramental life of the Church without ever asking me to leave behind what I had always known to be true. I share this story not as a requirement for anyone who comes to this ministry, but as a testimony of how God meets us wherever we are and leads us where He wills. My Catholic faith is my road — it is not the door through which every seeker must pass.

October 2024  ·  Diocese of Orlando Cursillo — The Moment of Calling

The turning point came at Cursillo #109 in the Diocese of Orlando. It was there that the words of Isaiah 6:8 — “Here am I. Send me!” — became the compass for everything that followed. That moment crystallized my calling to digital evangelization and gave birth to Saintly Journeys Ministry in July 2024. I am currently deepening that calling through studies in spiritual direction at the Avila Institute and evangelization through the Word on Fire Institute.

Today  ·  Central Florida Rooted in Community

My wife and I relocated from upstate New York to Central Florida in 2022, where I serve within the Diocese of Orlando. As a Cursillista, I am rooted in a brotherhood and sisterhood of faith that continues to shape and sustain my ministry. My wife’s own faith journey — from her Baptist upbringing through her own OCIA journey toward the Catholic Church — is a living testimony to everything this ministry believes: that it is never too late, never too far, and that the journey is always more beautiful when walked with a companion.

Credentials & Formation Shared not as titles, but as a testimony of the road walked

The following credentials span Catholic, Protestant, and ecumenical traditions — reflecting the same Come & See spirit that welcomes all seekers to this ministry. I am a student before I am a teacher. I am a seeker before I am a guide.

Christian Leaders Alliance — Ecumenical Formation

Randy completed an extensive program through the Christian Leaders Institute (CLI), holding candidate status with the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation.

Our Patron Saint St. Philip the Apostle “Come and see.” John 1:46  —  Feast Day: May 3

Philip was one of the Twelve Apostles — a fisherman, a layman, called directly by Jesus with no credentials required. His first act was to find his friend Nathanael and say three words: Come and see. Those three words are the foundation of this ministry’s invitation. Philip spoke them first. This ministry says them every day. He is venerated across every stream of the Christian faith — Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and Protestant alike — making him the perfect patron for a ministry that welcomes them all.

A Note on How This Content Is Created

I use digital tools — including artificial intelligence — to help me serve every reader with clear, well-structured, and carefully considered content. I want to be transparent about that, because transparency is a value this ministry holds.

These tools assist me in organizing, drafting, and refining written content. They do not replace the theological review, the personal reflection, the prayer, or the human accompaniment that are at the heart of everything Saintly Journeys Ministry does. Every course, every reflection, and every resource is shaped by my own discernment, reviewed through the lens of Scripture and the Christian spiritual tradition, and offered to you from a living faith — not a machine.

Apostle Paul wrote letters. I create digital resources. Both are tools for the same mission: helping people encounter Jesus Christ.

The tools change. The road does not.
“Come and you will see.” — John 1:39

The road is open. The door is always open. No prerequisites. No pressure. Only the invitation.
